For years, leaders have treated compliance and cybersecurity as problems to manage. In reality, they’re signals. They warn that the systems organizations rely on have become too complex to govern effectively.
As enterprises continued to layer tools, vendors and integrations over time, their ability to clearly understand, secure and control core systems began to erode. Complexity has outpaced human oversight. At the same time, regulation has grown more rigorous. This time, however, it’s actually being enforced, and companies that fail to meet mandated standards will find themselves out of consideration.
